Looking to change internet/tv provider

    Hi all,
    First post on boards,
I'm looking to change provider. Sky have increased their change mid contract (which I thought was Illegal) and I'm paying €71 a month for a basic package which I think is too much.
I'm thinking of moving to Work or Virgin but have a few concerns.
Firstly, I've heard bad things about the others customer service. Sky can be a pain in the hoop but you can usually get them on the phone at least.
Secondly, I'd be worried about the time it would take to switch, being without internet for 10 days etc is not an option for us.
Lastly, if anybody on here has switched, is it a big annoyance going from the sky remote/system that you are used to to a different one?

    Any advise offered greatly appreciated!

if you have a crossover period where you might be without access you could get a cheap mobile wifi dongle and put in a three 20 euro top up pay as you go sim (marketed a as a phone service not broadband) - assuming that you're in a 4g area. you should get 15mbps speed and give you a wifi network to connect to and you'll have unlimited usage for 30 days

this site is great for comparing

check the cancellation notice on your current contract also

Thanks for the reply glasso. Will have a look. I've had a look at other threads and it seems Sky have the best customer service, I must say I'm happy with them except for the cost.
As most know they up the price for existing customers and bend over backwards for new customers, same as many insurers. A bonkers and unsustainable business practice IMO.
