Non-resident Landlord Tax Filing

    Hi there Boards,

I recently got transferred overseas with work, which has meant I've had to leave my lovely little apartment behind. It's now rented it out, and I understand I've become a 'Non-resident Landlord' for tax purposes. Hoping someone here can answer some Qs I had on how to pay my taxes on the rental income.

    - A family member is kindly acting as my collection agent, and I understand it's best for them to be issued with a new PPS number before they file on my behalf. Is this new PPS created when I registered them as the agent on the Tenancies Board site, or do I/they need to do something else to get a new number?
    - What's the name of the form my agent will fill out on my behalf?
    - How do they remit payment to Revenue, online transfer?

Apologies if these questions are super basic, it's all new to me. Thanks for your time!

They wouldn't be getting a new PPS Number. It would like be a tax registration number or an agent reference number called a TAIN.

The form needed depends on the level of income earned from the rents. If over 5k a year, its a Form 11. Otherwise, its a Form 12.

You can pay online with Revenue, and file returns on line too
