Multi Zone System with Motorized value

Looking for some advice. I currently have a 4 zone system. At the moment only two of the zones have motorized values. One for hot water and the second runs off a thermostat.

A single thermostat in hallcovers the whole house. So it goes on and then it heats the whole house. I then use TRV's in each room to control temp in the room.

I have plumber coming in to do a few jobs and will empty the system. I am wondering should I put motorized values onto the other 2 zones? I was then thinking of connecting these into automation so I can open/close automatically when I need to.

Am I talking crazy? should I just leave as is?

The house is 3000sq ft and I think I end up heating water in pipes to part of the house I don't need the heating on because I have the valves open, or is this minimal?

    thanks

I did a similar upgrade at the end of Sept.

Replaced existing 2 motorized valves(ground + 1st floor) and added extra 2(attic and hot water) + 3 wireless thermostats(with receivers included) and moved the existing boiler timer to hotpres for controlling hot water only.
I've opted for salus thermostats (RT510RF no internet control) as they are cheaper but plenty of functions.

    All radiators already have TRVs.

Total for parts I think it was around 400euro

3x motorized valves around 45euro each(an old one was still working)
2 thermostats (had one already) - around 80 euro both
hot water cylinder thermostat 10 euro
    bypass valve -17 euro
    magnetic filter 110 euro

    Did the install myself.

If it's easy to install extra motorized valves without major pipework definitely go for the upgrade as TRV are not that precise.

Thanks, I will have a look.

Is the receiver on the Salus just connected between the power and the valve? so when the temp is too high it will turn off the valve?

When the temperature is bellow target temp (with 0.5 or 0.25 degree(this is configurable))thermostat will turn on motorized valves which will turn on the boiler. Only active zones will get heated.
I'll post this evening or tomorrow morning my boiler wiring diagram.
