My kids were born prior to 2016 so didn't receive this vaccine. But I have 1 immune compromised child.
Now with the possibility that the C strain has caused deaths, there are a few mumblings online about getting kids vaccinated.
It's not available free or easy by the HSE to those who want it on its own.
Apparently u6 and early teens are most at risk.
    To vaccinate or not?
    Think it's €300.
    Any advice?
Will be ringing my go on Monday.

The price of the vaccine is very expensive. It seems to be a deterrent to many people who can't afford it which is awful. Hopefully in the future it will be cheaper or free.

If i was you i would get the vaccine, even though it is a different strain thats going around. As you have an immunocompromised child, i would rather be safe than sorry.
