Gas heating thermostat

Hi all, I just bought a house that has gas heating. I think it originally had oil heating. There is a Flash Immermat 31100 Time clock to switch on an off boiler but the thermostat in hallway (Immit) doesn't seem to control anything. I'm not sure how to control temperature of heating.

I had the gas boiler serviced too and the guy said it's a new boiler (Worcester 24i) but there is no permanent live to the boiler so frost protection wont work. It looks like it has warranty until 2024 so want to get electrician to do this so warranty will be valid. I guess it's pretty dangerous if frost protection isn't working as boiler is outside in a boiler house in garden with no insulation.

I'm just wondering what control I should get for him to replace Flash Immermat? Ideally something that will control temperature and perhaps a smart one if it was possible. I was thinking climate but not sure.

    Thanks for any advice.

Have a look at Hive too, also when you having your smart control fitted the installer should be easily able to put a permanent live to the boiler while installing it.

Thanks. The hive also looks good but I'm a bit confused about this permanent live...

Would the normal installers from Bord Gais be able to do this part or would it be better to buy it and get electrician to fit? I guess it means that the cable for permanent live doesnt exist so maybe will mean more $$$ or an electrician.

    Hi,

Get your self a sonoff smart WiFi switch and organise an electrician to do the work for you. It will be cheapest option. Sonoff smart switch is 5 euro and you can switch your heat remotely with it. Be sure to get permanent feed to gas boiler as without this the boiler will have a shorter life.

Thanks, but I need something that controls temperature too. At the moment I just flick switch on Immermat and both heating and hot water come on together.
