Depends on the local authority. SDCC you could be waiting years even with medical priority

Medical priority means nothing - your just on a list with everyone else with medical priority

It really does depend on the level of priority your given and the area in which you aplied.

For eg if they are not building new houses in your area then the wait could be 10 years, same goes for if they arent building disability accessable bungalows etc if thats what you require.

As to the level of priority, theres like 2 levels if you think if it like that, a higher level for people with terminal illness which could leave a family minus a parent and potentially homeless when down the income, then a lower level for less severe cases

for eg iwas diagnosed with cancer with a 65% 5 year survival rate, i amthe mother of 2 young children and at 28 was informed i would never get a mortgage as i could no longer get life insurance to cover it. We were also very low income as my husband was caring for me for over 3 years while i was ill.
During this timei applied for priority as we were almost made homeless twice
We were granted the highest level of priority in cork city, south side. and were told that because there was a good bit of building going on that we would likely get housed within 2 years, as luck would have it we acutally got housed 4 months after priority was granted as the lady wanted to give 8 houses to families who had been in need for a long time, before the change over to the cbl system.

cblis the new online system most counties are using for housing, if yourcountyuses it then you actively need to log on weekly and look for new houses that are up for offer and actively have to bid on them or you wont be considered for houses

the cbl site is different for every county. Im not sure which counties use it i just know most had swapped over to it 2 years ago so i would assume that they prob do, and if you dont actively bid on houses then you wont be considered for one.

It was done to outsource the giving of houses but also to make sure those on the list were actually willing to bid on houses to get one. people who dont engage dont get offered housing.

Your best bet is to call in to your council office and ask them, as youll need to be set up with a profile ad loging via them anyway. as you can only look at the one your on the list for

12 years with severe medical issues and a single mother

12 years with severe medical issues and a single mother

Is 12 years the same for a single man on medical priority in on that list also

A single man with full custody of his children would be considered same as a single woman with full custody. But if you haven’t got dependent kids living with you then, no you won’t have the same priority, obviously.
