Should Ireland colonise the Western Sahara?

We never got in on the whole colonisation thing back in the day. So we never got the buzz of owning a foreign land that isn't ours. The Western Sahara doesn't have any government or law of its own and is defacto an unrecognised territory.

It's definitely feasible. If we commit to spending 10% of our GDP on building up our military, and bring in conscription for every person turning 18 for a few years. We can build up our forces and take that desert wasteland and claim it for Eire.

There would need to be a bit of ethnic cleansing here and there but it's largely uninhabited. We could even portion a piece off on the border of Morocco for the Orange lads to have.

It would be a really fun adventure and we would double the size of the country, while also having a part of Ireland that's always really hot. We would call it South South Ireland and the capital would be called New Cork. It would eventually, if all goes to plan, compete with New York as a global international city.

    Tiocfaidh ár lá.

Well it would certainly be a shorter journey for the Nigerian refugees.

I was there a few weeks ago. Absolutely no desire to go back, couldn't we think of a better place to colonise?

I think you'll find that it will be the Western Sahara that will be conquering Ireland in the years to come and not the other way around

Anyone living out there could then be charged sun rates by the Irish government. With the threat of it been turned down to a glimmer.

Yeah we did, we just went a different way about colonising. We didn't bother with ruling and all that non sense. We just went straight to breeding out the locals. Worked in Britan, US and Oz.

Better off claiming Bir Tawil as it's currently ungoverned and nobody wants it. In fact, we could claim it ourselves and turn it into an alt-right/SJW nirvana.

I think this is tongue in cheek about the government thinking to send the tactical forces team on a peace keeping mission to Mali?

With our fine use of linguistics that would soon be changed to 'Bar Towel'.

The logistics don't stack up for trying to conquer there. The Western Sahara is within realistic grasp though. A decent enough sized Navy and all we need to do it sail past Portugal to get there. Once we have our military built up enough, it could be accomplished within a matter of weeks.

We wouldn't have the capability of taking over Mali. I'm talking about the Western Sahara. :)

The morrocans who annexed it 30 to 40 years ago might have something to say about it.
