Refund Process for Working Director

    Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to get a tax refund? Am a working director, and for 2019, it's likely that monthly pay will vary, resulting in more tax being collected on months when I'm paid more.

In order to get a refund, do I just have to request a P21 and fill in a form 11 (which have to do anyway)? Do I have to calculate it myself, or will they do it?

    Cheers!

When you process your payroll yourself through the year it will correct itself so long as you are on a cumulative basis.

Edit: Nevermind, cumulative is a setting on each employee. Appreciate the help!

Do you happen to know if cumulative / week 1 is a setting in the payroll software, or is it linked to the RPN data downloaded from ROS? Brightpay doesn't seem to calculate payroll for future months, so can't figure it out that way. Had a look through the settings on Brightpay also, and can't see a toggle to switch between.

The RPN will be set to cumul or W1/M1 and once the payroll is updated for that RPN it will calculate pay accordingly.
