    in the motor trade and having a motor trade insurance policy is there trade plates the same as the uk where you can drive the cars to get them home with taxing them or how does it work

    you have to have a dedicated rate paying premises and garage code to apply for trade plates.

    ok so if you need to drive the cars home sometimes only a few miles and just after purchasing them and being in the motor trade if stopped by the boys in blue on the way, you would be ok, right?

    No, definitely not. It's either taxed or it isn't. If you're "in the trade", driving on trade insurance and the car is un-taxed without a trade plate on display, you're at the mercy of the garda. Even at that, I think technically trade plates only cover you during business hours.

    good post, ok so what if you are buying uk cars, if you are stopped in one of these by guards on your way home, surely as you can't tax them and sorting out paperwork could take a while, you would not be done,
