It's a disgrace....how the residents accept it I cannot understand.

The surface is uneven, potholes everywhere and would shake the **** out of any car. obviously no one complains .. otherwise it would be a priority

I have never seen it, but I refuse to believe it's worse than the Edenderry-Rathangan road.

The N20 from Charleville to Buttevant is a heap.

I have driven through that town for twenty years and yes it is an appalling road, rutted and potholed from where you enter the town then leave it. Lovely road surface now outside of it both sides. I don't understand why it has never been done. Can only be politics. Does anyone know?

Borrisokanes drainage was redone about a year ago.

Then the budget ran out so its in limbo for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, once you hit buttevant the bootom of the car is like a scene from the Flintstones.

Far worse roads in Ireland than the Charleville to Buttenant Road. Hell, driving through Bandon town itself is like an experience in pot hold dodging.

That story is from October. I have a suspicion the work hasn't been done yet.

I travel a lot for work, that is about the worst bit of road in the country I've come across.

First they came for the socialists...

Drove through Borrisokane last evening, in an awful state. Strange place Borris, a bit of a maverick town which always seemed to be treated as the runt of the litter.

The N20 from Charleville to Buttevant is a heap.

most of it is a wide main road, with no potholes, except for the last 2 miles or so coming into Buttevant on the Charleville side. If this is your idea of the worst road in the country you must not have been on many roads

Jeez.... 18 months to complete!! So more misery to come driving thru the town.

Well you kind of have to go through it if you're going to or from Limerick to places like Athlone/Tullamore. + was always a great spot for the women!

I think it has fine potential. Just needs TLC. Road is the obvious start point for that.
Surroundings are lovely - great land, Georgian archi, tall trees, and proximity to lake. Most of the rest of Ireland is easily reached.

Getting back to the important aspect, Borrisokane & women.
There are some towns(and Borrisokane is one of them) that can be happy hunting grounds so to speak when it comes to women, Gort in Co Galway is another one that comes to mind.

I'd say Oranmore isn't far behind to be honest.

Station Road is gone cat alright, that said it might be a good thing the way knobs blast up and down it.
