    Hi,

I am trying to claim tax back on paye online, however when I go to click end year statement p21 it directs me to fill in a form 12 and says I have a DEASP payment?

Not sure why as I don’t get any income support or anything like that.

Anyone know what I can do to get rid of this?

    Thanks

Do you possibly owe money to the dsp from an overpayment in the past?
I believe if you do that they can take this from any taxowed back to clear the debt

I was on jobseekers benefit/allowance over a year and half ago that was it but as to my knowledge didn’t get an overpayment

I’ve been working the last year and half full time so haven’t received any assistance.

Is dsp classed as jobseekers benefit/allowance aswel? I haven’t claimed anything since late 2016 then signed off when I got a job

dsp is any form of social welfare, did you sign off before starting the job or wait till your first pay as so many seem to do?

If its the second then its very likely you now owe them some money back, even if its only a week they will seek to take it from any tax you are owed

    Thanks for the reply.

That could be it, not sure to be honest. How do I find that out, do I ask the social welfare. I informed them of my start date in my job and they issued me with half a weeks pay as far as I can remember and then started my job.

Contact DEASP and ask them to provide a statement for whatever year you are requesting the P21, and send that in to Revenue through myEnquiries. Will soon be sorted.

Were you ever in receipt of Carers Allowance? That can remain on your revenue account with a 0.00 balance for years after you have ceased claiming, as the amount earned is not directly interfaced from DEASP. A letter from DEASP with a cease date will sort it if that’s the case.
