Hi. My Dad, almost 80 has been having really bad anxiety attacks for the last 6 days. This is his 6th week on Sertraline - was on 25mg for 1 week, then 50mg since.

He has also had some delusional moments. Had been in perfect health until early October.

Any advice re this medication would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Do a full google search; the makers sites, side effects especially, and any mention on support groups? I do this with any meds new to me...

You need to go back to his GP. No one here can offer you medical advice. The new symptoms may be entirely unrelated to the medication, and the GP needs to be informed of them.

NB I always read the patient leaflet carefully; it advises re side effects and re to see the dr about them. Part of my job as a patient ;)
