Did you buy a product that was sold as a "factory-reject"

    This could be a toy or a work tool. Did you get much of a discount? Did the defect matter or was it just cosmetic. Or maybe an airfix kit with some parts missing.

    When I was a kid in the UK (note I am not English) I worked for a guy in Windsor who had a factory reject shop. None of the items in the shop were in fact rejects, instead we used to drive a van up to the potteries in Stoke and buy loads of cheap china then sell them as rejects.

    The shop was always full of people looking, and the most common phrase you heard was "I cant see anything wrong with this one, I'm going to get it", he sold loads.

    Living in Germany in the 90's. Purchased a brand new Golf 3 back around 1994 that had been damaged on a train transporter. Got it for about €8000 less than retail in today's money, got panels, had it fixed in Poland and sold it to a colleagues brother.

    I made about €3,000 on it when all was taken into account. Happy out.

    Little known fact, something that is classed as factory rejected still has to be suitable for sale but the consumer waves the right of warranty.
    The reason for rejection must not be a treat to life or body,or affect the purchase item workability,ie it needs to work when you buy it.
    Only can be sold by manufacturer.
    Damaged goods are sold by the shop or dealer that made the original purchase , when you buy damaged goods the consumer waves all rights of consumer protection ect and seller has no responsibility for the sold item.
