    Hi,

I want to start using the public pressure washers to wash my car. I've seen a few of them when driving around in Dublin and wanted to know if any of you have any idea on how much do they cost per minute and how many minutes does it usually take you to wash your car?

    Thanks

I'm noticing some of the "complete clean" coin operated ones around lately.
They give you 4 mins for 2 euro.
You get a choice of , hot foam brush , cold pre wash, hot pre wash, cold rinse, and wax.

I imagine you are onlymlookijg to use it for rinse and have your own soap etc?

There's one of these near Ashbourne in Kilmoon Cross petrol station, and one in Drogheda at the McDondalds.

Both are similar price (think it works out a €1 per 90 secs or something). Used the Kilmoon cross one a few times, out of necessity, and find it always takes ages to make the car look anyway decent at all, and effectively works out about €8-10 spend to actually clean the car (sub-par effort at that).

Ultimately, if you want a clean car without the hassle, your average €5 car wash will do the same job without you having to get out and do anything yourself.

I'm looking to use them for a complete wash as I was under the impression that they have a soap "mode" which can dispense soap and can be rinsed using another mode.

What do you mean by "average €5 car wash"? Are these the rotating brushes? I never used them before as I'm afraid that they'll scratch the car paint.

Hand wash (usually 2 or 3 guys with a pressure washer and microfibre mitts) in my area costs just a fiver. 7 quid if you want wash & dry.

Is this in Dublin? If so, where exactly?

As joujoujou says i was referring to the hand car washes that you see about the place. Maybe they're more expensive in dublin but in Drogheda a fiver will get you washed, and €7 will get you washed and dried. a tenner will generally be the same with tyre shine and a rub down of the door arches inside too.

Mind you, its been a long time since i used one. I prefer to do it myself if i have the time. Im not fussed about the paintwork on my current car, though, but can't imagine a hand car wash VS a public pressure washer having any notable difference in terms of grit on the brush.
