Asking on behalf of the parents so may not be full of immediate information.

Parents house is 40 years old or so. Oil boiler. About 10 years ago they got a digital timer put in. Before that you had to go to the boiler house and flick it on.
There was an old thermostat in the hall that hasn't worked in decades.
Last year they got a new oil boiler in as the old one was beyond repair.

Mum interested in getting a nest but not sure it's compatible with all this. You can't change the time on the timer anymore and it's the wrong time constantly. So she can't use it to run at certain timesheet.

They are old school so use the immersion too when needed. No trv on the rads. You can turn on and off on rads.

    Any and all advice welcome.
