They've made 6pm missable, thanks NFL!

It will be interesting to see how the Bears line up. To clinch #2 they need to win and the Rams to lose which is highly unlikely. Do the Bears put out the first team as long as Cardinals @ Rams is competitive?

Fair play Paulie for starting these threads every week :)

I believe I said the same Week 17 last year too!

I think they'll be going out to win. Letting divisional rivals beat you and thinking you'll just turn it in the following week is risky business but I can see the logic: rest your players, avoid injury, play the Vikings instead of the eagles which on paper looks a better bet, etc. On the other hand if there's even a small chance of a bye and a home game playoff it's worth going for. I think you're probably right: if the Rams start getting well on top in the other game we could see lads being rested. But I don't think that's any kind of guarantee: the niners have looked good against the Seahawks and the bears, and the Rams haven't been exactly stellar in the stretch, so I think we should be trying to clinch that seed while it's up for grabs.

    Robbed from elsewhere.

Week 17, what is at stake and what do teams need?

    AFC
    Kansas City Chiefs can clinch:
the AFC West division with an LA Chargers loss.
A first-round bye with an LA Chargers loss AND a loss by either New England or Houston.
No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win OR losses by LA Chargers, New England, and Houston.

Los Angeles Chargers can clinch the AFC West division, the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win AND a Kansas City loss.

    Baltimore Ravens can clinch:
the AFC North division with a win OR a Pittsburgh loss.
First-round bye with a win AND losses by both New England and Houston AND the Indianapolis-Tennessee game does not end in a tie.

    Houston Texans can clinch:
the AFC South division with a win.
First-round bye with a win AND a New England loss.

    Tennessee Titans can clinch:
A playoff berth with a win.
The AFC South division with a win AND a Houston loss.
First-round bye with a win AND losses by Houston, New England and Baltimore.

    Indianapolis Colts can clinch:
A playoff berth with a win.
The AFC South division with a win AND a Houston loss.

    New England Patriots can clinch:
A first-round bye with a win OR losses by Houston, Tennessee and Baltimore.
The No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win AND losses by Kansas City and LA Chargers.

Pittsburgh Steelers can clinch the AFC North division with a win AND a Baltimore loss.

    NFC
Los Angeles Rams can clinch a first-round bye with a win OR a Chicago loss.
Chicago Bears can clinch a first-round bye with a win AND an LA Rams loss.
Minnesota Vikings can clinch a wildcard berth with a win OR a Philadelphia loss.
Philadelphia Eagles can clinch a wildcard berth with a win AND a Minnesota loss.

You just know that this ridiculous scenario will play out...

    New England Patriots can clinch:
The No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win AND losses by Kansas City and LA Chargers.

I think the Niners have a shot in LA. Gurley is out again and the Niners have done really well recently. Shanahan had them fighting until the final down last season and it looks to be the same this year.

It'll be a interesting evening of football, hopefully.

I've just noticed that 5 of the Niners' 16 games this season have had Thom Brennaman and Chris Spielman commentating. That's just cruel.

49ers are missing a load of players as well though including Breida, Goodwin and Pettis.

They've really put themselves in some mess at QB. Will probably end up sticking with Eli again next year.

Wonder what the refs saw on that Watson rushing TD that wasn't shown on redzone...not sure how it was overturned.

Edit: ah they just showed more replays. Looks to be the correct decision.

I think the late game redzone could be class.
