Plead guilty to a crime I didn't commit, pay a fine on the condition that I left the country at the first opportunity.

Or go to trial and be found guilty and get jail time.

My leverage? I get to go home and they get to report about the nasty British man in the local rags. Corrupt ****hole.

I would not recommend visiting Argentina!

Is UCD GroupThink just an account for gathering data for some project or other? I bet there's an actual forum for that.....

On an unrelated note - I once built a model of the Prinz Eugen. Good times.

How can you "bargain" a person, doesn't make any sense.

Said it before, saying it again - you wanna blow me, it's gonna cost you.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Straight swapped a stainless steel S&W 629 44 magnum for a mint S&W 29 44 magnum with an 8 & 3/8" barrel.

    BOOM BITCH!

What kind of idiot visits a tinpot corrupt country on purpose unless he's running from something worse?

    Visa issues/illegal entry. Allegedly.

Long story short, about 1999 I was to inherit a few quid. Friend wanted to go travelling but not to the usual Asia/Australia crap. I suggested South America and we decided on Argentina as you would prob get murdered in the other ones.

Booked tickets, sent off passports to get visas etc.

Anyway, fly from London, get to Buenos Aires. Go through baggage reclaim, no problem, passport control, fine, and then we were grabbed. My friend was searched and let go but I was accused of a visa violation.

I had stamps in my passport from a few years earlier when some of the us had flown to the Falklands to visit a family member that was based there with the RAF.

That was the issue. Three weeks holiday turned into three days in a cell and home again.

So you visited an occupied territory as one of the occupiers? Can see how the Argentinan authorities wanted to send you home.

No.. Argentina did not exist as a state when Britain settled there.

If that was the case, where are the calls for Saint Pierre and Miquelon to be "returned" to Canada??

    Go read a history book!

I've learned there is no point in debating these things with Brits.

Jaysus, Argentina is one if the best countries to visit. Decent standard of living and cheap. Great hotels, scenery, nightlife in Buenos Aires, great people, excellent food. Broaden your horizons

Where are they? Not in Europe anyway!

Do you mean haggling? Can't do it. I'd pay extra just to not have to.
