The Google map car has been updating it's streetview mapping images this year(mostly from April-July), maybe a decade after they started the mapping project.

Here's a sample, I think I'm not allowed to embed images yet so here you are to click to view a couple of upstanding hard men, zoom in. :) Aren't they so tough? :D

Upper class people, please don't be offended by what's going on outside your mansions :P

First two were people looking at the car. Kids mostly. One was giving the finger. 3rd was boarded up house. Then a horse.

I’ve seen worse as a child walking home from school.

I've always wondered why the curtains were pulled in my house when you turn the corner on street view but were wide open when you pass the front gate. How long were they there like?

Nope, it's a tiny snapshot of the major deprivation still in Dublin(not those two fella's showing the finger!)

And that fella Scott who died down at the South Pole didn't need sled-dogs because he was a real man.

'God damn it we'll pull our own sleds like proper men' he probably thought not long before freezing to death.

One of the lads in our research group at UL was asking me about a place near St John's hospital. We decided to Google Map the location. A photo of a guy scaling a high wall came up.

The lad didn't move there :D

I shat myself. Particularly the kid on the bike. He was one sinister looking kid. Then there was the other kid with the school uniform walking past the car with her school bag.

    Can’t sleep now.

Major deprivation is fairly normal semi detached houses, many with cars. Mostly well kept.

The road surface could do with a resurfacing I give you that.

It's a strange feeling being able to see the changes, both major and minute, over the years on the timeline of images from my street. :(

It's funny that you say that but yet you will never buy a house there and end up commuting 2 hours just to get to Dublin. Here's a good house for you to buy in the locality but you rather commute from a country town instead.

Do get a hard on from poverty porn OP?

Nothing worse than people who sneer. There are good people in those communities who actually have to try and live among the scumbaggery.

I wouldn't sneer. Hope you don't end up in such a situation.

Well, why is it still needed now of residents to hang their washing out on the public roadway?
    https://tinyurl.com/ybwjrmzx

I mean, I think it's awful on these people to have to air their washing in public, this behaviour is like what one reads from the slums of Dublin in the 1900's not in 2018!

You’re one strange poster. These people don’t have lawns so they use a communal area. Which is a public road but clearly private enough.

Are you driving around Dublin in google maps to get your jollies from deprivation.

As I once heard an incredibly drunk man shout over and over on Dublin Bus...."Dis is Dooblan???"

I imagine he was also the kind of person to tie a horse up in a housing estate.

    H block house

I mean ffs, I don't care what anyone's political beliefs are but why plaster it all over your house?

Looking at some of those streets there are clearly very well kept houses and people who are house proud. I feel sorry that they have to share space with people who don't give a sh1t.

The second link was kind of fun. After flipping off the Google Car, the kid on the mini-bike then proceeds to do a wheelie while following it for a while.

I found myself somewhat disappointed that he didn't fall on his showboating arse while doing that. (I appear to be somewhat evil today)

Rathbane. Captured on a balmy summer afternoon. Park up the old rothar and break into your bag of cans on footpath, as you do.

Please don't ever update this google....

    Happy days in Rathbane

No idea. Just glad I don't have to look at that every day. And I'm sure at least some of his neighbours are probably not that happy about it but are no doubt afraid to approach him over it.

We all share space and it doesn't take much effort to keep a property clean and tidy. It helps create a nice community and eliminates hassle between neighbours. Not rocket science really. Doesn't matter whether it's a local authority estate or a private estate, I've seen beautifully kept local authority estates that would put some private estates to shame.
