Anyone here see this new game by wild card the makers of ark.
It look's like a sea of thieves clone but with interesting content and apparently boast's a insane 40k player server architecture similar to eve online.
Players will be able to level up into different role's such as carpentry ship building, arm's, sailing etc, You can hire ai controlled npc's to fill roles on your ships or work in your settlements and any role can be taken by a player. you can play in 1st or 3rd and is basically a pirate mmorpg And it goes into early access tonight.

I am looking forward to this i loved ark but stopped playing when they released paid dlc in early access, but this seem's like it will fill the dead mmo void in the market at the moment, for me personally. Would be fun to get a good group of irish pirate's going.

It was delayed again, with pretty much no notice from the developer. 30 minutes after it was supposed to go live, they tweeted it was delayed till the 21st.

I wouldn't be too hopeful for a smooth launch on this one.

yea i doubt it will go smoothly especially given the size of the player base which seems insane to me, but the one thing i do see going for it is that it's basically a re tweeked version of ark so i would expect patches and updates to be fairly quick.

The age mechanic seems interesting apparently you will grow old and you can have a kid and then when your dude dies the kid will take over etc

yea i managed to get on a server for about 5 minuets of rubber banding around 100 or more logged out player bodies snoring and just refunded the thing, bit of a joke in its current state and should have been marketed as a stand alone dlc or some thing it's literally ark you even start with a pick axe ffs. oh well

I really don't know what people expected. Ark still isn't done, and this was planned as a DLC. Also, let's not forget that MMO's are largely dead these days.

Final Fantasy manages to hold a passable amount of people, and even Warcraft's number have caved to (quite possibly) 3 million or less by now.

Hadn't realised it was an ark dlc in disguise, shame as the trailer looked very promising.

Well, I'm still up for teaming up and making an Irish company of pirates, if anyone finds this thread in the future feel free to pm me.

Right now I'm playing on a few different servers official pve and a bunch of private servers keeping my options open.
Official servers are muck right now with over population and rubber banding like crazy on the starter islands , when you manage to get off them you find all the land is taken already and if you leave you and your ship in a server that becomes popular while offline it can be a pain to get back into but private dedicated servers are fun some are boosted some are just vanilla but they run smooth just like Ark

Ark was very much a solo players game I used to run a few servers and everyone always wanted to go it alone ,this version of ark makes it just silly to go alone.

    Anyone try playing this..

I've been playing a while now...it's better then I thought it would be given the reviews and bad press.
