Hi all, I am relatively new to whiskey and am looking for alternatives to RB 12 which I loved.

Is there anything on the market that tastes similar to it?

    Thanks,

    JD

Work your way through the other pot stills - Green Spot, Powers (the higher end ones, not just Gold), or some heavy pot blends like Writers Tears. They'll all have similarities to RB12 but all different too

Have a bottle of Green Spot and Writers tears but yet to open either. Will give them a try. Would Powers John Lane be similar?

Yes, it's the same style and would have the familial similarities. 3 Swallows is the cheaper / younger Powers pot still. Pot still is not that well represented as a style with most Irish being blends but there are pot heavy blends either identified (WT) or not.

You may find you like other styles also so don't limit yourself to the pot still rexommendations - but you should like these.

Check out the miniature sets in Dunnes and Celtic Whiskey shop. ALDI have the Kilbeggan mini set.

Jameson Crested is worth a try.
