Offered a Graduate Programme but wont get the grades

    Hi,

I was recently offered a Graduate Programme. A requirement to be considered was a 2.1 in your degree.

As I am only in my final year now I was able to assure them that I would graduate with a 2.1 at ease and they said I could send proof of my results and degree as soon as I got them.

However, I have just finished my Christmas exams and unfortunately they went extremely badly. I am not confident I will achieve the 2.1.

Has anyone had any experience in this situation? Would they actually take the job offer away despite missing the grades but still having a degree?

Yes of course, they are out to recruit the best and they don’t need to settle for someone with a pass degree, when there are others out there that can deliver. In my day, we always over offered by about 20% to allow for the fact that not everyone was going to be able to make the grade.

Your offer is worthless if you don’t meet their conditions, so get your out and work your ass off over the next few months to rectify the situation.
