I have a Whirlpool side by side and the damper freezes closed making the fridge too warm. Im not sure if the damper is faulty or I have another problem creating this symptom and the damper is fine. Anyone any ideas before I buy a new damper at €100? If I open the damper manually and wipe dry fridge temp goes normal for a day or so then the damper freezes again.

I am not sure what part you are referring to as the damper but the most common problem with a high rise in temp in the fridge side is caused by iceing up of the evaporator in the freezer side, do a complete defrost by unplugging it and leave the doors open to speed up the process before you spend any money by guessing that a part is faulty
