Is it possible to change central locking

I just started driving a 2017 nissan micra, last car was a 2007 suzuki swift.

In the suzuki when I pressed the button on the key to unlock the door it just unlocked the drivers door. A second press unlocked all the doors.

In the micra it unlocks all the door on one press of the button.

Is this something that can be changed? I sometimes forget to lock it from the inside and at least in the suzuki that meant I was only in the car with the drivers door unlocked and not the whole car unlocked.

I just feel safer when the central locking doesnt open the whole car on one press.

All models are different in terms of what can be done however opening single door is a common option so might be easy for your dealer to do.
You should also query whether they can turn on auto locking when the car locks the doors once you move off and stay looked til you attempt to get out.
You owners manual might detail whether these options exist.

Most modern cars these days have the option to lock/unlock the driver's door only or all doors via a setting in the on-board computer menu.

My 2006 Nissan had options to change the "default" central locking from "all" to "driver's door only", so the likelihood is yours has too. Mine had instructions in the manual, didn't need the garage to do it - have you got the manual?

Oh yes, I do. I will have a look in it - thanks for the tip.

If I reme6 correctly, when you unlock the doors, hold the button down on the fob. I think it changes its setting (definitely was for a previous Nissan I had that changed it from front doors only, to all doors)

    Thanks everyone for your help.

    It WAS in the manual.

The answer was to hold down both buttons (lock and unlock) on the fob simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. This flipped it over to just unlocking the drivers door on one press, with a second press unlocking all doors.
