    Hi,

Absolute novice and just recently bought the above products from you and a bit confused how to connect them up.

The Denon has two connections for each speaker while each Wharedale speaker has four.

    Can you help?

    Enda

    Hi Enda,

Normally RS team answer but if you have new kit I'll take the riskðŸ˜

We've all been there new kit not sure ,dying to play them.

Your speakers having 4 connections are likely allowing to be bi wired / biwireable. In your case you only need 2 connections and there should be metal brackets that connect the posts together which enable you to use the two connections. Check through all packaging as easily missed and for details this below link may be the relevant guide for you but not 100%, last thing check + on speaker to + amp and same for the -wire, like a car battery. Also, ensure seat the connections well, and not much extra exposed wire, do it with power off also.

    MAJJ,
    Normally RS team answer...../

Indeed they do and the Charter clearly asks Boardies not to offer advice. Due to the nature and timing of the technical question in this case I'm letting your post stand as an exception.

For future, please leave queries to Richersounds to answer.

Thanks for your post Enda and thanks for your answer MAJJ!

As has been said if you leave the metal connecting strips between the binding posts and connect the speaker cable to the low frequency connectors it will run well for you. You can bi wire the Wharfedale speakers but it would be pointless without a second speaker output on the Denon!

Let me know how you get on!

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi,

Thanks to everyone for the comments and help.

Did indeed find some extra bits and pieces under a false floor on the packaging.

Think that it’s clear what needs to be done now.

    Appreciate the time.

    Enda
