What Irish celeb are you most proud of?

There is a lot of celeb bashing, right or wrong. Comedians, news reporters, politicians and sports stars all get a bollocking in here at AH. But for a nice change, what famous Irish person are you proud to let foreigners know are Irish?

I'm proud of Thin Lizzy. Lots of people know their music but don't realise they are Irish.

I’m proud of Andy Lee. There will be bigger names mentioned here but he was a very good boxer with the heart of a lion, as well as being an absolute gentleman. A great ambassador for Ireland(albeit born in England), boxing and the traveling community.

I like lots of internationally famous Irish people but I don’t feel pride really. I just don’t feel like it’s my place. It’s their success, not mine and I just happened to be born in the same place.

I suppose I feel some pride at Irish sportspeople doing well because they are representing Ireland but actors, comedians, writers etc. They rarely if ever play up their Irishness and why would they?
