I don't mean the jack-o-lanterns, I mean the tasty ones. Surely they're still in season?
But I can't find them anywhere, where I've asked I've been told they only get for halloween.

Pumpkins and squashes aren't very popular in Ireland. Farmer's markets and trendy veg shops would be your best bet.

    ^^ This, pretty much.
I was shocked the first time I was carving pumpkins with Irish friends and they didn't even bother scraping out the flesh first, to cook with.

Farmer's markets and specialist greengrocers will be your best bets. If you're near Cork, I do believe I've seen some in the English Market.

I've taken to growing my own.

I still have my one from October... sitting in the kitchen with the giant sweet potato...

Used to grow a blue squash called ??Crown Prince??

I believe squashes and marrows are popular in the U.K., but not here. Great in soups and stews, pity they are mostly considered a Halloween decoration here than a great versatile vegetable.

There's nothing like a bright orange, spicy pumpkin soup in the dark winter evening's.
