He offends my sensibilities with his insufferable, condescending and morally superior droning. Is there any way to start a campaign to remove him from the national broadcaster?

Without delay, "I speak for the populace on the basis of my two gay friends." Sorry, to alter the words of an iconic song is tantamount to rewriting history.

Is he the lad who phones up people and asks them to say they love him? It's a bit Weinstein-ish for my taste.

How does a radio presenter not understand context in a song?

The song isn't singing "hey, you're a ******' in a really condescending, targetted fashion. It's being used as a general common-for-the-time, insult, in fairly light-hearted fashion.

I'm overweight, and I feel offended the word fat is used in a song. I am particularly offended by Fat Boy Slim, as I feel the name partially targets and identifies me. I would like this name removed from all media, past and present, including, but not limited to, verbal, print, online text and any images or logos which may bear the name in writing, using any fonts.

I would also request that this name not be mentioned in future, even when relating or discussing to the past. I want people to feel uneasy mentioning it, for fear of me getting offended, or someone else getting offended on my behalf.

I also want Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" to have the same treatment, as it is not only offensive to me, but is sexually degrading to women... somehow.

Oh God, between this clown and Ray D'arcy trying to end the Angelus, you have to wonder did any of them ever grow out of being 15? I mean, if you got rid of D'Arcy or McDermott, you'd save a fortune.

When 'you scumbag, you maggot etc' is hurled, she's not directing it at a gay man-she's directing it at a former lover who essentially wasted her life and wasted his potential.

He's paid to provide a service. If he doesn't want to provide a service, then fire him. Similar to how certain Muslim workers were fired for not wanting to handle alcohol bottles and cans of beers at the till in supermarkets.
Plenty of gay people like that song-it's a heartbreaking song, because it's painfully honest. I know gay people who use the word 'F*ggot' as well as 'homo'. (A gay friend mentioned the homo thing when discussing the difference between gay weddings and traveller weddings, in a joking fashion. Like 'if you think travellers have flashy weddings, wait until you see the weddings homos have'. This was around the time of Same sex marriage vote-I was voting yes, obviously.)

Will he ban Eminem for using the N word? Will he ban the likes of Kanye for also using the N Word? Nope, he'd be sacked if he tried. (They pay to have their tracks played on radio-it's promotion, innit).

Fairytale always storms up the charts every year-and not the cover versions, but the real, uncensored version. Even Dustin the Turkey used the 'f*ggot' line-and if you have less bottle than a puppet, it's time to reconsider your life.

Just did a search on this guy and he has a Picture This(dear god don't get me started) tattoo on his torso.
He's a 35 year old man who is desperately attempting to look like a 25 year old man.
It's infuriating that our licence fees pay for this hipster man childs affluent lifestyle. No getting woken up at six every Saturday by shouting kids for that too cool for school virtue signalling poser. Maybe if I didn't have to work a normal job and have a family I could get offended by songs for money too.

    Glazers Out!

It will go away now this year now that RTE have not caved.

Next year it will kick off. It will start off as being referred to as "controversial" and a couple more voices will wade in. Then the year after it will be referred to as a "storm", gaining more of the usual voices. The year after that it will be gone.

He's trying make it in Australia as well-he was involved in Love Island, the series they aired in Australia. He was narrating.

I don't have an issue with someone being childless (I'm childless myself-realised early on that I was not parenting material). But he gets so 'hot and bothered' over the most inane s**t, as does his sister Roe. He's the kind of idiot that cheers on the #metoo movement, but probably has a ton of skeletons in his closet.
They generally all do-all those 'feminists'.

That's what they said about 'Baby it's Cold Outside'...

But it's not Christmas without Fairytale of New york-or at least it doesn't feel like it. (And didn't they play that song on TG4 when Eoghan was there?). And nobody has equalled the original, they go about 'changing' the 'scumbag, you maggot, you cheap lousy f*ggot' line, and they don't embrace the pathos or 'lived it' quality that Shane and Kirstie bring to the song. Truth is beautiful, but it can also be painful-and the 'f*ggot' line is part of that painful truth.

If they tried to get Fairy tale banned...oh s**t would things kick off. Similar happened in New York when one bishop tried to get 'Oh Danny Boy' banned. Then September 11th happened... Danny Boy was the most prevalent song sung in the aftermath of that incident.

In defense of Roe, I think her sex advice column is really excellent. She is well able to write and systematically address people's concerns with carefully thought out, insightful advice.

She posts some serious anti man shyte on twitter though. I happen upon it occasionally. And I'm like... Really? FFS! You're so much better than this.

She was on tv3 one day, debating a model-or trying to-and failed completely.

When the model said something like 'sure what's wrong with looking at beautiful people', Roe flipped her lid.
It was hilarious-she had no answer but thought the question alone was audacious.

Good on RTE telling their employees where to go if they don't like a song...

...they know they wouldn't get hired anywhere else, frankly.

And does Eoghann not realise the Voice of Ireland ended about 5 years ago? Nobody gives a s**t who he is now. They didn't give a s**t who he was then.
And nobody gives a toss about his sister either.

What the hell is sexuality studies anyway? Is that her being paid to go around having sex with everything?

The fact that this guy has a job in some sort of outlet of artistic 'culture' like a radio station and basically wants stories, fictional stories with fictional characters, which that song is, the fact he wants to ban works of art like that is nothing short of bat$hit crazy. And it is. I mean where are you going to stop in this sort of crazy logic? Are we gong to ban Johnny Cash songs because he sang about a character 'shooting a man in Reno, just to watch him die'? Elton John singing "Saturday night is alright for fighting", can't be having that sort of message, better ban that too. I mean where do you draw the line? OP is right, ban this gadge, whoever he is
