So much for "bona fide" journalism

How ironic. The Irish Independent's Ian O'Doherty argued in favour of the new court regulations restricting the use of Twitter and other electronic communications in court hearings to "bona fide" journalists, because "typing some words on your phone and releasing them to your Twitter feed does not make you a journalist. It makes you, at best, a concerned citizen and, at worst, an amateur who can wreck an entire case."

Last week, six days after O'Doherty's piece was published, a rape trial collapsed because of the content of an article published in the Indo.

Today (Dec 5), a murder trial collapsed because of RTE Prime Time.

Do you think Ian is moonlighting for boards or something? Why are you addressing him personally here?
