You’ll get the full 5 years of YFS if 2018 was your first year named on a herdnumber, 18, 19, 20,21,22 IMO

You can’t go back ,those entitlements you got in 2016, will be brought up to the E250 national average and you get same for all eligible Ha on your 2018 application.

    Good luck with it

Hi Valtra, The NR/YFS will be back to him tomorrow to confirm it but as I read it , he met the criteria at time of application to qualify as a young trained farmer so he should get the 5 year introductory top up if 2018 was his first year named on a Herdnumber.

OP will you keep us posted

They only gave it to me for two years and I was in somewhat similar situation. I applied for it the tried and 4th year but did not get it. But then it's the department of ag.

I thought all this would change by the time the next CAP comes along. That the scheme ended in 2020.

I was thinking the same, but hoping that the conditions will be the same in a new scheme, although when reading the current scheme, it sounds like if you apply before 40 you will get it for 5 years. defo not the same as previous scheme. but thats my interpretation of it.. i see when i get a reply

My brother got paid. He turned 40 in June. Joined YFS in 2015 when it opened. We took it that when accepted to the scheme you were in for the 5 years.

Had you been long associated / named on/with herdnumber before you made a NR/YFS application ?

Do you need to have completed the green cert for these schemes before you apply for them or would a person currently completing it be eligible to apply?

What about a person in their late 30's who was doing the Green Cert but not able to finish it before 40? Is it tough luck to them?

As a young farmer do you get an allocation of single farm payments on naked land?

If you apply for the national reserve and it opens you should get entitlements for it.

Thanks so you can get entitlements if you have currently have none, its not just a top up for a few years?

Ya if you successfully apply to the national reserve the will give you entitlements for naked land in line with the national average entitlement value which is around €250/ha. The young farmer top up is a separate payment.

Thanks LC, I usually confuse myself when I look it up online!
