    Hi,

I'm looking for a Philips 50PUS6703 + soundbar in GBP. Can you pricematch against Argos https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8192769 at GBP£399.

Was also looking at the Polk Signa S2. On your page it says it's HDMI is not HDR compatible. Is the HDMI cable run from the TV to the soundbar so this doesn't matter or will I lose HDR on my tv?

    Thanks
    Ron

    Hi Ron,

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to match the Argos price as they charge an additional £99.99 for a 4 year guarantee. We include a 6 year guarantee in our price.

The Polk Signa S2 has only one HDMI for ARC which will take sound so you wouldn't lose the HDR on the TV as it's simply taking a sound signal from the TV. It doesn't have it's own HDMI inputs.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

Thanks for the info David, you recently had the Philips for sale for £429 on boards here recently. Will you match that?

    Regards

One other question, TechRadar review mentions the point below. I know there's always compromises at this price point but is there other screens around this price point with less HDR compromises?

"This partly explains why the screen only claims to output a maximum brightness of around 350 nits.
This suggest that you’ll only get a limited impact from the screen’s HDR capabilities - though at the same time, it’s possible that the relatively low brightness will help it deliver better black levels than over-ambitious rivals."

    Hi Glenagoolie,

There aren't many better panels around this price in my opinion and it's down to the direct lit LED panel. The colour and contrast is better. I have one on display and it is a better image than others in it's class.

If you are looking for a better panel I would go with something like the Sony KD49XF8505 but you would be looking around £679.

I could do a price of £459 on the Philips at the moment if you're still interested?

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David
