I can't stop vomiting, my side's are so sore with the violent and involuntary heaving I'm doing.

It only came on suddenly on the past 2 hours or so. Wrapped up well but still shivering with the cold.

Is this how it ends?? I hope so, I'll be put out of my misery!!

I know 2 people with it and I got a bad dose of something similar back in June.

Stay hydrated if you can keep liquids down. Sleep as much as you can. It does pass in just a day or two.

Being ill isn't easy. I'm ok, thankfully. Get well soon.

Not everyone uses "dose" the same way we do. Many people use it as slang for the clap. That has led me to an odd conversation with a work colleague before, and probably led to some other conversations also turning odd without me realising it.

On a similar note, possibly less useful to some, my phone used to auto-correct "cold" (or whatever attempt I made at spelling it) to "child", so "in bed with a nasty cold" is another one to watch out for...

Sounds like a bout of food poisoning.

I started a new medication in July and have had a cold ever since. A persistent cold since July. Last two weeks I’ve been getting a little light headed and “slow” but, I don’t know if it’s a little bit of a virus or from the tablets. No vomiting though, that’s the worst

Have it also.. Its the only form of cold/flu I get once every few years.

Eat light food, not chunky. It rips the feck out the throat if or when it comes back up.

Scrambled eggs (no toast) or really watery soup.

Don't swallow phlegm and if you fancy a fizzy drink, shake the fizz out it or let it go flat in a glass.

And what you dont puke, will come out the other end several times a day so have plenty soft bog roll. If it gets bad, pop one in the fridge!

And stay in bed. Nobody is going to give you a medal for going into work so don't bother!

I got drenched waiting for a bus on Friday afternoon (it was 30 minutes late so if it had been on time there wouldn't have been a problem) and spent most of yesterday with a dry cough.

This morning this has become a hacking cough and temperature and I had a very restless night so I'm going to stay home (can work from home luckily so no sick day needed) and go to the chemist for some of that exputex stuff which is usually good at clearing any phlegm (might work for you as well OP) and see how I am tomorrow. Need to try and be back to normal by Wednesday as I have a colleague coming over from the UK for meetings.

Our kid had it over the weekend. Coming out both ends.
The one good thing about been sick is getting to eat loads of semolina.

It seems to have about a 48 hour incubation period so if you start to feel queasy today or tonight I would stay close to a toilet.

Here is a recipe for the Master Tonic. Ive been making this for the last two years, and I haven't been sick in the last 2 years... maybe Im just lucky.

Anyways, I currently have 3 jars of this in the fridge. I take 2 large spoons per day.

All over the toilet bowl. No map needed.

Well that was a horrible 24 hours, and still not out of the woods yet. I was praying for death last night.

Thanks for the tips, but I couldn't even keep water down. So thirsty and then a headache from the dehydration on top of everything else. I was just swishing it around in my mouth and spitting it out!

A good ride would sort that illness out.

Oh deary me, no! All that movement, making me seasick thinking about it!

I got something two weeks ago, my boss got something last week and we were never in a position to pass it on so something nasty is doing the rounds.

Thankfully for me it wasn't a case of coming out both ends and only lasted two days but it was like I had the flu, drank a ton, ran up a mountain then fell down it.

Both my kids had it, you'll be glad to know it does pass quickly. A couple hours of vomiting tonight and possibly diarrhoea tomorrow and you'll be recovering then, only one of mine got the diarrhoea so you might get lucky and wake up tomorrow only feeling semi shi*e.

Just saw it was actually last night you had it and sounds like your doing better already.

I still feel like utter shi*te, but can hold down liquids now at least. Even the thought of food though is making me wretch!

If I could find a way to be a starfish without being touched, or moved, or breathed on, then sure!

I am at the stopped puking, coughing up crap stage now. 4 days total? Over the worst.

Appetite is still shot however. Need food even although my body says no..

Slept 47 of the last 60 hours. No tv, internet etc. Some weird dreams!
