gas cylinder full, no gas

    Hi,

We have 2 large gas cylinders connected up, coming into the house for normal appliances - cooker and a gas fire in sitting room.

1 of the cylinders is empty and there are a few valves on the connection setup, which was set up in the house when we moved in and always worked fine.

If you look at the attached photo with numbers:

    - cylinder on left is full
    - cyinder on right ran out
    - switched valve (1) to the left to open that side (it was set 180d the other way for other cylinder so assume this is it)
    - didn't do anything with valve (2) as it is open
    - turned valve 3 fully around in the + direction until it was fully turned so now that cylinder should be open and gas flowing
    - turned valve 4 fully around in the - direction until it was fully turned

So from looking at it, and the few apparently simple connections, anybody know what the problem might be before we get someone out?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

You may well have closed valve 1.

Well now I feel like an idiot.

Yeah that was it, thanks Mick.

I thought looking at it, because there was 2 cylinders (previous owner had enough gas set up here to run a hotel!) and the valve has an arrow on it, turning it to the cylinder you wanted was the idea.
