Our family is looking to rent a 4 bed 2 bath furnished house in Carlow. Must have a back garden the kids can play in. We are non smokers and my husband works. Max rent €1250
Daft has nothing suitable. Any other ideas?

Not much option but to wait for a place to come up on Daft, other than maybe check with the local estate agents and see if they have any upcoming listings. Should probably be doable for around that price (assuming you meant €), but there just isn't much supply at the moment. If you'd be willing to look outside Carlow Town proper, there's a couple more options:

https://www.daft.ie/carlow/houses-for-rent/pollerton/dolmen-gardens-pollerton-carlow-1892853/ (Quite close to Carlow Town)

https://www.daft.ie/carlow/houses-for-rent/garryhill/milltown-garryhilll-garryhill-carlow-1894412/ (Bit over your budget and further out, but a nice looking place)

https://www.daft.ie/carlow/houses-for-rent/borris/rathana-borris-carlow-1889831/ (Rather far south of Carlow, but cheap for the size and a lot of acreage for the kids to play in)

Thanks for those links. Yes meant € ( just moved back from Canada so changed that $ to a €). Sadly the back gardens on the 1st 2 are useless for 2 kids to play out in and the 3rd one is too far out. We will check out estate agents.

Set up an alert on daft. Nice places move quickly. Also if you have a network put the word out.

Be aware that a lot of properties near the IT get rented to students. Speak to an EA to find out which estates have a higher percentage of students than elsewhere. Places will pop up when students leave them, so be on the lookout from now until the end of January.

Also, all of the houses that I stayed in when I went to the IT in Carlow had backgardens without grass; they were paved or had loose stones covering them, for low maintenance, as not many renters use the backgarden.
