Hi. I have a VRT inspection next week.
Any advice or guidelines on the inspection.
How long does it last and what docs do I need?
I want to get my Irish plates as soon as possible, will they issue me with paperwork straight away so that I can get plates fitted?

Calculating Vehicle Registration Tax
When it enters the State, a vehicle is a new means of transport for VAT purposes if either of the below applies:

it is less than six months after its first registration
it has travelled 6,000 kilometres or less

After VRT visit to the NCT Centre and payment of the vrt fee, how soon do I get my new registration number so that I can get plates made?

You get the registration number there and then when you pay your money.

They will give you the registration on the spot, you can have plates made in some NCT centres I think.
