You’ll have to take the door card off and find it.
    How old is it.

    Could be anything at all.
might even be coming from the seat belt.
Recently pulled my own car apart looking for a clicking noise.
Stripped it right back in side the boot/C pillar and still no joy.
Wheel off and shock out and found the top shock nut needed a 1/4 turn.
Took a far few/hours to find it.
Another time I had a different rattle in the boot area.
Found the rear window heater had a little resistor pack in the hatch lid and it was lose.nearly sold the car over that one :D

Do you have bluetooth audio in the car? I trace rattles when parked by using this method below (trying to pinpoint an intermittent trim rattle while driving or even with the engine running will melt your brain).

Install this app and then set a tone playing at around 800hz. Slowly dial the frequency down until the rattle starts and then hunt for it.

Fix it with whatever - foam, tape, cable tie etc.

    Rattles can be a pain.
Have someone drive you while you listen around
A small piece of paper wedged between two dashboard segments can work wonders.

I had a rattle that I was convinced was a flap in the heating system behind the dash. Drove me nuts for ages. When I used a tone generator it was obviously coming from the vanity mirror in the visor. Never would have looked there!
I could have had the dash apart looking for something loose. :pac:

When you hit the right frequency whatever was rattling will do it continuously allowing you to find it.

Does the door rattle when you close the door?

Can the window glass be moved around when half-open?

    Any window related strangeness?

    What car is it?

It might be as simple as the clamp for the window glass on the regulator being loose.
It could be the actual door panel itself rattling or the plastic water shield inside the door.
Any number of things can cause rattles and they can drive you to distraction.
I would recommend getting some felt tape and some new trim clips to suit your door, you can buy the exact ones to suit your car from here these have a finite lifespan and can cause rattling as they age.

Also worth checking the bracket on the door frame that the door lock clamps onto. These can usually be adjusted slightly up/down/in/out to give a snugger fit.
