PAINT PROBLEM

hi, I bought a tin of paint on Saturday to paint a hallway but when I roll the paint on with a new roller and if I roll back over the area a 2nd time it's coming off in clumps on the roller. Not sure what's wrong.

It's a colour mixed in the paint shop. The wall has being previously painted before - several times with no problems. I've never come across this before. is it a paint problems, application problem or something wrong with the wall?

    any advise?

Going to ring the shop later aswell.

    thanks.

Did you mix it very well?
    Was the wall damp?
What type of pain was on the wall prior?

I gave it a stir when I opened tin, but it had been mixed in the machine in the shop only a few hours before hand.

I had painted on an undercoat the previous night - an ordinary white dulux that again was mixed for me, 2 years ago, as I have to cover a dark blue and the man mixed up the tin of dulux with a gray mix, this was based on his advise. This tin was siting in the garage unopened till Friday night. Got a good stir thought.

Is the wall damp? I don't think so. It's an internal wall. No damp marks etc. it's a chilly back porch but has rads and heating on every night.

After the disaster of the new paint, we took it off, lightly sanded the wall, and rolled on the gray "undercoat" and this went on fine

I should really test the problem paint in another room and see does the same thing happen.

    Your undercoat isnt dry.

Your pulling off the coats underneath.

You need to let your undercoat dry, it may be on too thick or the service beneath it is reacting with the undercoat preventing normal drying times meaning its not adhering well.

Thanks. My bro in law didsuggest the paint may be reacting with existing paint. Il leave it alone for a while and test a patch again and see. Cheers.

They drilled through the barrel on the driver side door and not sure then if they boosted the signal from my keys in my house, or used some computer thro the obd port - my keys were not taken.

It's the ambient temperature. This is the wrong time of year for any type of painting.
