I've recently just bought a house and have space to use the garage as a home gym. Where would you recommend to purchase equipment? Doesn't have to be brand new. Second hand is fine provides its in decent nick. Also how much would you estimate it would cost to setup. I'd be looking for a barbell, bench, squat rack, dumbbells up to 40kg and plates totalling around 200kg

Adverts or Donedeal is your man.

I went with non Olympic weights. Not as much selection however much cheaper.

I bought some stuff from here

    Was happy with it.
Also managed to pick up a half squat rack on done deal, new, good bargin. If you have time you may be lucky. Don't save on the barbell, I did and regret it a bit.
Pretty substantial outlay I'd say, you do well to have change out of a 1000 for all that.
I went with Olympic, happy with that decision.
