With zero political representation of any note in Kilkenny it’s really not surprising. If this was limerick or the states beloved Galway it would be up and running years ago. We have to stop sending non entities that can barely string a sentence together to the dail and one or two with a bit of passion and steel that actually believe in Kilkenny.
The other FF plonker is too obsessed with Maurice McCabe and various conspiracy theories to do anything that might make a shred of difference to anyone living in Kilkenny

no was going to be proper bus routes running every 15 mins, from 7am till 10pm and was going to be funded by the NTA, would of been great

Athlone a town of a similar size to Kilkenny has had one for years. Works well too. The only caveat being is that Athlone is well serviced by one route due to it's simple west-east layout.

And it has a college with 5,500 students who probably use it everyday.

Yes NTA have been working on this plan for a few years. Two main routes as far as I can remember.
Loughboy to Newpark area and St Luke’s hospital/Freshford road to Purcellsinch or something like that serving areas in beteeen. I think it’s fantastic and badly needed as the population reaches 30k it’s essential to tackle congestion. Must be a nightmare not to have a car if you’re living out in a far flung estate not close to shops etc

Think it went out to tender. Very unlikely to be BE as they have zero interest in Kilkenny after disgracefully withdrawing their Clonmel route which our moribound TDs sat back and allowed happen because they wanted to close their Clonmel base. Likely be Kavannaghs or similar running it

Well this will certainly be a good topic to ask our local Councillors and TDs next year when they start knocking on our doors looking for votes. Time to start holding people who represent us accountable.

Proof that Europe can do with a form of the US' Electoral College.

Neither was the previous Govt. We're not Dublin or Cork or Galway so we don't get anything. In their minds there's a big hole on the map where Kilkenny should be.

The town would have to change to one way traffic I believe if it is to be implemented.
