Hi Guys, just looking for some advice, I have a 08 passat highline that has condensation and a bit of water in the drivers side headlamp, car had been bumped previously by previous owner and the headlight is slightly loose.

What would be the best option for me? Get a second hand headlight casing from a scrap dealers and get it installed properly?

Have you examined the headlights for signs of cracking or damage? It's probably easier to just replace the entire unit if the lens is cracked or casing damaged. A scrap dealer is not going to sell you a casing on it is own, they will sell you a whole headlight unit.

This is a common issue on E36 BMW which would fail at NCT.
Short term fix for test was to remove the plastic cup on the rear of the assembly, remove the bulb, and dry it with a hairdryer.

IT was also a common issue on the rear lights on the RX8. I had an issue where I over-tightened the nuts and it pulled the bolt out of the light cluster casing. Of course the next day it was pouring rain and the whole unit filled up with water, so much so I had to drill a small hole in the bottom of it to drain the water out until I got a replacement.

Cheap enough on Micks Garage, Hella OEM €107.

In the past I've repaired them with silicon to make them waterproof after a thorough drying, but if it's loose you might have broken mounting brackets which may require repair.

For the sake of €30 for a second hand one it'd be handier to replace the whole headlamp IMO.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
