Phone Watch double dip.

    Hi guys.
Looking at my bank statement on line this morning I noticed that Phonewatch had taken two direct debits from my account yesterday. My first reaction was that maybe they had missed a debit last month so I checked that out. Payment had been taken as usual.

So I rang Phonewatch and they said that in accordance with new SEPA rules as of October 2017 they were moving from payment in arrears to payment in advance, thus the double charge in November.

They then asked if I had received a text or letter. I said I had not. They asked if I would like the letter sent out today and I said yes.

Has this happened to anyone else / can they do this without notice? (Last bit is rhetorical).
