Birds chirping at 3 O'Clock in the morning.

I was awoken the other night by Mrs. Argentina when she was feeling sick. I was a bit disorientated when I first woke and thought the chirping I was hearing was the remnants of what I was dreaming.

As I became more lucid, I still heard them, I checked my watch and it was indeed 3 AM!

She told me that those birds are always chirping in the middle of the night - I never heard them myself so I took her word for it.

What kind of birds are still awake at 3 AM and chirping and making noise?

If you have street lights it could be one or several common garden birds.

There is at least one streetlight to each house. Those new-style LED ones. There are old-style sodium lights outside my own house, I never hear chirping at night here.

I didn't think the lights would keep them awake.

In my ignorance I thought they'd set their routine to the sun. Do street lights confuse nature?

The street lights would give them a false dawn. It’s a worrying thing.

Studys have shown that street lighting disrupts many birds and causes stress and health issues as a result.

Robins, in particular, will continue to sing in low light conditions and, being one of the few to sing all year round, are your likely culprits.

In summer, yes, but not at this time of year.

But I suspect the incident is fabricated anyway.
