2010 is the E70 version. Now you could be lucky and get the LCI version at decent money.

Biggest issues on cars of that year were the DPF, the rear light letting water in leading to it shorting on the rear tailgate, also check that the trim has not come away. Finally the electronic brake fails and its a big expensive job.

Had one, picked it up in a private sale in 2011, it was an 07 with 60K.

Absolute dog, lots of expensive things went, kept it for a year or so and had to trade it for my sanity. 2 of my friends had X5's with similar issues.

Both rear light clusters leaked and needed to be replaced. 2 x 20" Alloys cracked, according to the rim repair guys I used its a problem with the run-flat tyres needing a harder compound and size of the rims.

iDrive screen was intermittently faulty, electric steering motor went. They're really hard on tyres, the outer edge of the tyre wears due to the angle of the wheels, an inherent bad design. The wheels are staggered so can't be rotated.

To top it off the tax is mental and the tyres cost 2K a set if you have the larger rims.

They look good and drive nice thou! Better off with a 5 series estate, or A6 Avant Quattro if you need 4WD.

I was looking at a 2014 BMW X5 sDrive25D... but reading the above comment, really puts me off these cars....

I am assuming the 2014 is the F15 versus what we were talking about being the E70.

The 25D is the 2 litre 2WD paddy spec that everyone goes for in this country.

To be fair most of them are only used for ferrying around the kids anyway so a 2wd 2.0 litre twin turbo with 220bhp will easily do that job. The x30d is obviously better but wasted on most owners of them here at least.

Doesn’t the 2ltr X5 have the N47 engine. Wonder if there’d be problems with that down the line when it’s out of warranty.

Depends on the year, from about 2014 on wards they got the newer B47 engine afaik.

I have an x25d and a mate has an s25d. Don't get the S as road holding is nothing like as good as the x version. Not too noticeable on a dry road but when the ice and snow came - different story..

I have an E70, problems I have had are 1. Electronic handbrake broke on hols in France, so made for a worrying ferry back, but the park held it. 2. Both airbags have gone at different times and pump. Pump was my own fault as I ran the the car when a leak was in airbag so it burnt out. 3. New set of alloys, original set were cracked and I was sick of getting them welded.

Tax is a balls, tyres can be expensive, but do a bit of searching and u can get a set more reasonable. As for driving they are unmatched in comfort, had being contemplating changing but all the major things have being fixed, and I would be into big money again to find something to rival it as it has all the bells and whistles.
