I spotted it on their website, not sure that it was advertised on public jobs.ie

    The salary is €23,353 - €39,109.

    Thank you :)

Does service from civil service transfer across to county council?

I've thrown my name in the hat for this. I'm guessing it's a paper exam. God I hate paper exams

Wonder what the application forms are like..

Personal details, education and qualifcations, employment history, examples of certain competencies like the civil service interview and 2 references.

That’s the general layout of the application form.

Just a bit of info re Limerick Coco. When you get an offer you will have to do a medical. It costs 105 euro and you pay upfront yourself.
Initially the council say they will reimburse you this cost once you start work.
They do repay you but they put it through payroll and you are charged tax and all the usual deductions in it I questioned this with revenue and it is wrong but they still do it.
So out of your 105 euro, you may be left 30 or more euro short.

Thanks very much for the heads up. I hadn’t thought that far ahead, need to get through the interview first!

Any tips re the questions they asked? I have all my competencies prepared since the Civil Service CO interview, I passed that so hoping this interview is similar.

In the exact same boat. Passed the co and doing the Coco next week. Wishing you loads of luck and sorry I can't be helpful on the questions

It was a grand interview. The two I had were lovely. They asked loads about the council and what I knew about the structure and basically what the do.
Went into the compentencies a bit too but not too bad. Very quick with interview result, placement and hiring.
    Best of luck

I was wondering if anyone has any information about a second interview for the clerical officer position. I assumed it would only be one interview and then being placed on the panel if you were successful. Any information on this would be much appreciated. Thanks

I only had one interview on a Friday and got the result the following Monday. I took the role but left as it was in customer services and not something I was interested in doing. Which was a shame as I came 2nd on the panel.

They have a big customer services Dept, very call centre like. Could be taking calls about anything from a dead horse on the road to someone looking to have a leak repaired. There were also more harrowing calls with domestic issues that finished it for me.

From what I've read here on boards the last time around people who scored in the top 90 were give two interviews.
A second lot were called at some stage after that and had one interview only.
It all seems very hit and miss really

Interview results came out this evening and am relieved that I made it on to the panel- although was hoping to be placed higher up. Does anyone know roughly how many clerical jobs come up each year or is there any information about how many have been hired in recent years. If anyone has information on this I'd love to know.
    Thanks

Yea I'm disappointed with my place on panel as well to be honest. I doubt they will reach it. From the last time round though they got fairly far..

Oh no! I probably haven't a hope of getting an offer so. I thought I had a really good interview too! I was hoping that someone would say that all the panel would be filled eventually. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best!
