Advice re location of postbox

Quick question in regard to a neighbour drilling a wall for a postbox.
They had initially intended on putting the postbox as per the blue marking on the attachment but have since put it on the other side of their doorway marked red, which backs onto the wall of my gf property.

Are they allowed/entitled to do this without requesting permission from my gf or would this need to be checked with the solicitor/management company?

Not looking for legal advice just general info/opinion? It is a new build and the neighbour is nice - no complaints but my gf is just curious should they have asked for permission first? I know it is easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission but the postbox is there now.

    Mod
    Amended title for greater clarity
If there is a management company perhaps the should be first port of call. May also be planning issues

That may have been the position amongst the Ancient Romans.

Nowadays the general attitude seems to be "nemo me impune lacessit" Nobody provokes me with impunity

Are you/her certain that it's not a party wall? It certainly appears to be for most of its length.

Is it on her house, outside of their property?

That wall forms part of the boundary wall between your gf and her neighbour. It is therefore a shared wall. As long as he didn’t compromise the integrity of it by drilling it, I really don’t see the issue. It’s no different to you fixing a picture on the inside face
