I want to book my flight as this will be a celebration of a great man.

Does anyone have any ideas on when and where the funeral will be?

Sorry if this is not the correct thread

    Is he doing a cameo?

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I'd say Google would be a better bet than Boards.ie ;)

Flights to California or NYC for his funeral? Fair play!

Stuck outside a church in the rain with a load of nerds mumbling half hail marys?
No I'll give that a miss.

In fairness though - chap had a good one, working at fun stuff, making dough, having your creations known to billions. Hard to better it.

I doubt it'll be a Catholic mass in Ireland for a New York born, California based Jew. ;)

"Mr Lee's funeral was attended by family and friends, and some guy from Ireland"

I think Jewish funerals are held very soon after death.

Is nerd a term of offence?

I don't see the issue the man had a big impact on many people's lives through his life's work. If were discussing a famous artist or traditional writer people may not bat an eyelid

I'd think it odd regardless of the occupation of the deceased particularly if it involved a likely flight to the US unless they were a family member or friend.

Has someone criticised an interest in Stan Lee? Not seeing it.

We would if a stranger to them said they were going to fly to the United States - possibly the west coast - for their funeral.

Whatever they're into - harms nobody, but it is pretty extreme.

Being a big fan of him though - nothing pathetic about that.

Maybe it's like the country and Winty is being sent over just so someone from the family shows their face? Couldn't have the Lees talking about them!

For the tea and sandwiches in the local pub, I'd say the Lees would put on a good spread :D

Not this time. This time he’s the leading man.

You'd imaging the funeral arrangements would be best left to Elon Musk.
Something like Spocks funeral, with an ornate casket put into orbit around Saturn, or something......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,033 ✭✭✭Winty

    To be clear

I don't want to attend the funeral and stand at the graveside.

I hope to be in the same city on the same day as thousand's and thousand's of Stan Lee's fan's will turn the city into a massive Comic Con to say thanks to the man behind so much popular culture.

I heard they asked Thanos to do the ceremony. He does a lovely cremation.

...OP, the funeral was already held based on the below link...But if you read it, it mentions that there will be a proper tribute in time, so there may be another chance for you to do it...
