Storaging brand new tyres. Do they lose their qualities?

    Looking to buy some tyres and thought about buying few more spare ones.

    Two questions.

    1- Any tips where to store them? Any room in the house would do and in its original package?

    2- if it was to fit them a year latet. Would they feel any different from day one? Basically would they lose any of its characteristics / qualities?

    Back in days of old, I used to work in the tyre industry - Ozone was the big enemy! That's going back some years now, and we only really dealt with motor vehicle tyres, so the rubber compounds/amounts would have been different to bike tyres.

    Rubber does 'age' though, and all of the manufacturers basically wouldn't even entertain a claim if the tyre was over 5yrs old, no matter how little it might have been used.

    Keep them out of daylight anyway is the big one, but there some advice here:
