    hi all

i'd like to make up a nice wall clock
with a nod to the Seiko alpinist
i can get high quality integers/numerals and even hands done here in work
in brass, bronze and in steel (brushed or polished)

i'd love to get a green dial with the depth and shimmer of a watch
any idea where id get this?
i can make a dial and get it sprayed in work in a metallic green
but its not going to have that depth, i believe they are spun

any thoughts on movements? i definitely want a sweeping second hand
ive found a seiko one, should be okay?

    any tips welcome

Probably no help to you, but I was swimming recently and noticed that the large clock had a sweeping second hand, which I found interesting.... No idea how that works but maybe could lead you towards finding a movement that suits

I am going to show my complete ignorance now - but if the clock you saw was mains powered, then a sweeping seconds hand makes sense to me, as saving battery power is not a concern.

sweeping second hands are usually found if you buy a silent movent so they dont tick over every second, plenty of battery ones around.

you can find alarm clocks with sweep or sweeper movements and they are normally silent

loads of cheap ones on ebay
