Elderly parent injured in Supermarket

My Mum is elderly and was shopping in her local Supernarket.

Another customer who was rushing and not looking where she was going - ran around the corner and barged straight iinto her. The other customer was carrying two baskets. It was an accident. My Mum did not inform the management in the store. The other much younger customer apologised and went home.

Now my Mum has rang in tears to tell me she is in a lot of pain with her shoulder and I'll probably have to bring her to her doctor. I'm annoyed she did not notify management at the time but she just wanted to get home.

Is there anything she do about this? It's hardly Tescos fault but she's been injured due to circumstances outside of her control and we will probably have to pick up the bills.

Theres no negligence on Tesco's part in what you've described

That's what I thought allright. The other customer was careless in not looking where she was going and literally running around the supermarket, but I suppose we've all rushed around.

Just annoyed she's been hurt through as she's elderly.

It was an accident. Wrong place at the wrong time.

Just bad luck and of those things suppose but just a nuisance no one needs.

Assuming she’s over 70 the doctor visit won’t cost her anything.

Hopefully not. She's 72. Just the rest of us having to take time off.

If she goes to a Tesco doctor get her to use her club card. Triple points on X Rays and MRI's this week :)

You are making little of this person's injury.
Pls don't post again on this thread

That's life. We all do it. Hope your mum gets better soon.

There is a case in negligence against the other customer. Get her details and send her a letter. She might have personal liability on her house insurance.
