If you have to take time off work and go on sick leave and you haven,t enough prsi cons built up can you get the Supp Welfare allowance instead ?

Yes, you get disallowed for illness benefit, then give the certs to the Community Welfare Officer. I'm not sure if it's €196 or €198 per single claimant but much of a muchness and in this climate, more reliable for guaranteed payments.
