The reason for my post is that I’ve been tasked with providing a hand written take off, of all elements of a domestic dwelling and I’m just finding it difficult to grasp it at the moment. I have attended all lectures and have all relevant reading material but I’m just finding it difficult to get started. I’m wondering if there is anyone who would be able or know of anyone who could provide a grinds service to help me get my head around this. Thanks in advance for any responses!

What exact material are you working off for doing this exercise?
    Have you no examples?

I have a spec with a set of plans and specifications. We have to measure and produce a BOQ in accordance with ARM4. The substructure element i.e. excavation and foundations make up the bulk of the take off and they are the first part to be completed. I do have some examples but I'm just not sure if I am heading in the right direction.
